My Twilight Manifesto

So… Here’s where the gloves come off. (Just a little.) As someone who appreciates the Twilight series and yet calls herself a literature student, I have to defend my opinion frequently among my peers, especially the vampire-loving kind.

Anyone who’s heard anything about Twilight knows that it isn’t exactly considered “highbrow” literature. Also, fans of vampire fiction have a tendency to believe that Twilight isn’t about “real” vampires. (And this isn’t even mentioning all the arguments I’ve heard about how Twilight is gory and racy and poisoning the minds of teenage girls.)

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, of course. So, this section contains mine. This is my personal manifesto about what Twilight is, and what Twilight is not.

You may believe differently, and I have absolutely no problem with that. This section exists because I want visitors to understand my views about the series, so that they have some idea what to expect from my posts.
